There's no doubt that the internet is becoming far more visual than it's ever been before. Platforms such as Pinterest, Flickr, Instagram and so on have literally billions of images stored on them, and the majority of these are coming from our phones and other devices. Obviously you'll have whatever camera you have on your device, so I've pulled together various apps that will allow you to do interesting and different things to the pictures when you have them.
Aviary
On their website they say of themselves "Bring creativity to your fingertips with powerful tools and creative supplies that give you everything you need to make beautiful photos in seconds"
Aviary is a powerful tool with lots of overlays and options, yet is simple and straightforward to use. You can edit images directly on the website if you want to as well.
Google has got involved in the scanning market, and this tool has two particular advantages. Firstly, you scan four different places on the photo so you reduce or eliminate glare, and secondly you can save the image directly to your Google Photos as well as your camera roll. It's a quick and easy tool to use.
Instagram is a photo sharing application that has some good editing functionality to it. It's owned by Facebook, so it's a really good tool to post images to your social media accounts quickly and easily.
There are times when static photographs - however wonderful they are, are simply not good enough. If you've ever wanted to peer into a photograph, look around the corners, or up and down, this is where Photomyne comes into play. The app will take a lot of photographs for you, and stitch them together. You can then move around the picture and explore in ways that have never been possible before.
I've added in a couple of examples of things that I've done. These are fairly basic attempts, and as you can see there are some small sections that I missed when doing the stitching, and the colour changes slightly on the park image simply because the sun came out from behind a cloud! You could have quite a lot of fun with this tool if you have a friend who you can photograph, you pause and then she moves, you take the next picture and so on - your friend appears everywhere in the image! If you'd like to see more example of people's work, you can visit the website directly at https://photosynth.net/default.aspx
Unfortunately Microsoft has stopped access and support for the app, so it's not available any longer. However, I've included this because if you already have the app you can continue to use it. If you don't have it, and want to try something, there's a good article with suggestions available at http://appcrawlr.com/app/related/267383
This is your Sidebar, which you can edit like any other page in your workspace.
This Sidebar appears everywhere on your workspace. Add to it whatever you like -- a navigation section, a link to your favorite web sites, or anything else.
