I really couldn't run a course on Apps for librarians without including a video showcasing some apps that librarians have produced. I put out a call on Twitter, and these are the first ones that came back to me, so there's no favoritism, just first come, first served as it were. However, if you've got a library app that you're particularly pleased with, we'd love to hear about it - please put a link into the comments field at the bottom and we can all take a look. Or produce your own video, and we can upload it for everyone to see it.
There are plenty of ways that you can read magazines online, and most of them do involve money. I've got two examples here, one which works with your library and your library account and is free; the other one is a priced product which runs on a subscription basis.
Although the app itself is free, you need to stump up your £7.99 monthly subscription in order to make use of it. However, if you want to try it out, follow the link
https://get.readly.com/VtbbQKfPBXV9EauI which will give you a month entirely free of charge, and if you become a subscriber, I also get a free month! So it's a nice win-win.
Leisure time
Don't forget that using your library should be a fun activity as well - you don't need me to tell you that it's got some great leisure resources. So, just for fun I put together a list of a few games that I like to play. It's a very personal collection - you may hate all of them, but take a look, and see what you think.
The website for The Room is at http://www.fireproofgames.com/games/the-room and includes lots of details about the game. If you want to play it, all the versions are available at
