Library based apps

Page history last edited by Phil Bradley 7 years, 7 months ago

I really couldn't run a course on Apps for librarians without including a video showcasing some apps that librarians have produced. I put out a call on Twitter, and these are the first ones that came back to me, so there's no favoritism, just first come, first served as it were. However, if you've got a library app that you're particularly pleased with, we'd love to hear about it - please put a link into the comments field at the bottom and we can all take a look. Or produce your own video, and we can upload it for everyone to see it.

Reading magazines

There are plenty of ways that you can read magazines online, and most of them do involve money. I've got two examples here, one which works with your library and your library account and is free; the other one is a priced product which runs on a subscription basis.

The Zinio for Libraries app is available at

Leisure time

Don't forget that using your library should be a fun activity as well - you don't need me to tell you that it's got some great leisure resources. So, just for fun I put together a list of a few games that I like to play. It's a very personal collection - you may hate all of them, but take a look, and see what you think.
